The impacts of recession may have spread across boards as indications have emerged that the number of Nigerians owning private jets has dropped from 67 during the former administration of President Goodluck Jonathan to 31 currently.

It was discovered that many of them were either sold or returned to the original owners overseas as chartered flights have dropped as a form of blue chip business.
Another report say majority of the disappeared private jets are owned by influential men of God who had been in good rapour with the former president.
The report said the private jets were either sold out or returned between 2015 and 2016 adding that not less than 31 have been de-registered by the authorities.
Also, other reasons for their disappearance are that many of the former owners of private jets are finding it extremely difficult maintaining them as it is believed the amount now spent on maintenance has doubled.
Details from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) show further that currently, there are about 36 private jets on the register of the agency.
18 out of which are state-owned, the other 18 are owned by individuals and corporate bodies.
