Traffic was for about five hours disrupted on the ever busy Abuja-Lokoja-Okene highways Monday as aggrieved truck drivers blocked the federal highway demanding the abolition of N10,000 tax.
Thought combined efforts of the Kogi State government and other security forces including Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) lead to the end of the blockage, it was not clear if the tax has been put off.
But the Police Public Relations Officers, ASP William Aya, said the issue would be resolved soonest in order to ease the hardship on motorists, the travelling public and efforts are on to end it permanently.
