Former Executive Vice Chairman and National Coordinator, Alliance for Affordable Internet (AA4I), Dr. Ernest Ndukwe has argued that even though Nigeria has the population to grow uptake of internet access, so many people are still offline because of high cost of connection and devices.

While noting that about 60 per cent of world’s population is still offline, he revealed that only 20 per cent of Africa is online compared to Europe’s 80 per cent.

He therefore called on policy makers to initiate policies that will make Internet more accessible, as just over 50 per cent of the Nigerian populace are within the range of mobile signal, “a good percentage is in 2G.”
