Former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi weekend created jobs by way of empowering scores of youths in his Agulu Community, Aniocha LGA of Anambra State.
He gave out empowerment instruments including N24 million, 42 buses and 20 tricycles popularly known as Keke NAPEP to enable them fend for themselves.
The former governor also awarded scholarship worth N1 million to one Miss Chinwe Okonkwo from the community who made First Class at the undergraduate level and currently pursuing her PhD programme.
He also promised that every Agulu indigene who made a first class would be offered scholarship to pursue PhD programme.
Addressing his community members at the Agulu Town Hall, he said the Peter Obi Empowerment Scheme (POES) will continue to work until majority of youths in the area achieved improved standard of living for themselves and their families.
He explained that the N24 million donated under the scheme was without interest from the beneficiaries and urged them to use it judiciously and report back to him should they encounter challenges in the course of doing their businesses.
