The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, yesterday fired the commissioners for Tourism, Mr Folorunsho Folarin-Coker; Finance, Dr. Mustapha Akinkunmi and Transport, Dr. Ekundayo Mobereola.

Though a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tunji Bello, announcing the cabinet reshuffle by the governor did not give any reason for the development, political watchers say the development may not far from issues bordering on apparent drop in state revenue on the side of the Commissioner for Finance, weak coordination of government activities in tourism sector and inability to implement the phasing out of Yellow buses as earlier planned by the government.

The statement said Ambode directed the Special Adviser, Arts and Culture to take over as the Acting Commissioner for Ministry of Tourism and Culture.

The Special Adviser on Transportation will take over as Acting Commissioner for Transportation, while the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance will take over as the Acting Commissioner for Finance, pending the appointment of new Commissioners in the respective ministries.

Ambode thanked the former Commissioners for their service to the State and wished them well in their future endeavours.
