Through the visiting Prince of Wale and the Head of the Commonwealth of Nations, Prince Charles and wife have come and gone, foreign affairs pundits have smoked out three major considerable factors that prompted the royal visit to Nigeria.
According to experts who spoke to Business Hilights over the weekend, they identified the fact that Prince Charles being the emerging new head of commonwealth, there is the need for him to familarise with strategic member states ahead of effective takeover.
Also in the basket of reasons for the visit is a poser that he needs to tour key nations and British allies in developing countries preparatory to becoming the King as Queen Elizabeth ages gracefully.
On the last but not the least takeaway, analysts averred that Prince Charles needs to tour more strong trading allies to Britain as Brexit build up thickens.
Earlier in his welcome address at the Presidential Villa on the first day of the visit, President Muhammadu Buhari made it clear that Nigeria remains a strong ally of Britain and UK and would continue to remain so.

The Prince also had open air meeting with high ranking traditional rulers in the country where the Oba of Benin reminded him of the need to return all looted Benin artifacts.
In Lagos, the hosting Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, noted that the cooperation between the Nigerian Navy and the British Royal Navy has been commendable.
Admiral Ibas spoke during the visit of the Prince of Wale and the Head of the Commonwealth of Nations, Prince Charles, to the Naval Dockyard, in Lagos.
The visit to the Dockyard, it was learnt, was to highlight and demonstrate UK’s maritime contribution to defence engagement in Nigeria and the importance of Lagos harbor to Nigeria.
The Chief of Naval Staff said the visit would also strengthen relation between the Britain’s Royal Navy and the Nigerian Navy and to raise the profile of UK-Nigeria maritime security cooperation.
After the reception, which included a parade by a Guard of the Nigerian Navy, the Prince of Wales was taken on a tour round Lagos waters on the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) EKULU as the Prince was piped on-board by the Commanding Officer NNS EKULU, Commander Andrew Zidon.
The Head of the Commonwealth on arrival at the Lagos Airport aboard a B737 aircraft with Registration Number CS-TFY, was received by the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Idiat Adebule, officials of the United Kingdom Consulate and security chiefs.
Prince Charles had arrived Nigeria, on Tuesday, alongside his wife, Camilla and were received by President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja for their three-day business and cultural tour of Nigeria.
The visit was used also to mark the 75th Anniversary of the British Council in Nigeria.
