Akwa Ibom currently is the state with the highest number of Coconut trees in Nigeria.

During the event, Governor, Emmanuel described coconut oil as a most sought-after product globally; assuring that on delivery, the factory when ready would catapult the state to a global market and boost the industrialisation agenda of the state government.

A statement released in Uyo warned that any village that opposed the execution of the coconut factory through attack on the contractors handling the project risked withdrawal of the certificate of the village head/ paramount ruler.

While hinting that the host communities would be the primary beneficiaries of the factory, the statement mentioned that the Governor also inspected a syringe factory being managed by Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing Company as part of working visits to wrap up activities to mark his second year in office.
