Factors have been rolled out on why Nigeria has not witnessed any factor air crash in the last three years meaning that no hull losses or high fatality within the period under review.
The Commissioner for the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), Mr Akin Olateru, who made the revelation at the 47th Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) in Lagos, traced the feat to what he described as synergy and effective collaboration among the aviation agencies.
Aside, AIB, other agencies in the sector are the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and the Nigerian Meteorological Agency.
He said to sustain the feat, all agencies in the sector must continuously work together to grow the industry.
Speaking on this year’s theme: ‘Stronger Collaboration for Zero Air Accident’, Olateru noted that boosting smooth working relationships amongst associated agencies remains the magic wand in the advancement of security and safety in the aviation industry to work as one.
