Apart from massive Africa wide investments in cement production, continental economies are now seeking Dangote’s hand in the development of the vast natural resources, especially those with clear comparative advantages.
Leading the latest call is the United Republic of Tanzania. Speaking shortly after his delegation was conducted round the emerging Dangote Refinery and Fertilizer plant in Lekki, leader of the delegation and High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mr. Muhidini Ally Mboweto, sought the assistance of Aliko Dangote in the development of his country’s energy sector, specifically petroleum.
Business Hilights gathered that he was on the tour with the management of the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC), who came on a study tour of the Dangote Refinery and Fertilizer plants to seek collaboration between Dangote Group and the Tanzanian government.
He said a similar investment by Dangote in Tanzania, will definitely make the East African country self-sufficient in petroleum products.
According to him, Tanzania possesses vast natural resources and is endowed with unique comparative advantages thus offering exceptionally attractive opportunities to investors.
Some of the listed Tanzania’s minerals potential by Mboweto include gas, gold, diamonds, and gemstones including tanzanite, base metals and a host of other minerals.
However, to spike Dangote the more, the High Commissioner averred that beyond the borders of his nation are massive markets in neighbouring economies which his country had sealed standing bilateral trade agreements.
He also noted that the attractive seafront access via the alluring Indian Ocean, further presnts rather a better export opportunity to other parts of the world.
