Students, group seek NGFCP boss insights on future of oil, gas flaring in Nigeria
In view of his industry expertise and strategic handling of ongoing process to drive gas flare commercialization in Nigeria, the Program Manager of Nigerian Gas Flare Commercialization Programme (NGFCP), Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Mr Justice Derefaka, has been invited as Special Guest Speaker to two major stakeholders summit to make presentations.
Two separate invitation letters made available to Business Hilights by the organizers showed that whereas he is expected to address the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), University of Lagos Chapter on “The Future of Oil and Gas: On-boarding the New Generation” as a special guest of honour at the student association’s The Industry Discourse (TID) summit, the second event, also in Owerri, the Imo State capital is the second NESH Oil and Gas Roundtable.
A statement signed by the President of SPE Unilag Chapter, Mr. James Osaro, explained that “It is a new initiative of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, University of Lagos Chapter, borne out of the need to establish an interactive opportunity for students to connect with professionals in the Oil & Gas/Energy industry.”
The event is to be held at Afe Babalola Hall, University of Lagos on Saturday, 14th September, 2019 by 9am.
On the NESH Oil & Gas Roundtable, the invitation letter signed by Mr. Emeka Ugwu-Oju, noted that just as the Roundtable theme is ‘Nigerian Entrepreneurs and the NGFCP,’ “The main conference objectives is the exchange of views on how Nigerian entrepreneurs could be positive enables to the gas flare commercialization programme”.
“The main agenda of the Roundtable include the harnessing of implementable ideas and buy-ins on how the oil and gas sector will assist in catalyzing a private sector led development model over the next 10 years that will complement the current public sector led model for faster development of the Niger Delta, and more efficient and transparent utilization of current and future oil and gas proceeds,” NESH founder, averred.
