That the student with the highest score (364 over 400) in the 2018 UTME examination, Mr. Israel Zakari is from Biu LGA in Borno State and equally took the exam in the same local government area upon the excesses of Boko Haram insurgency is no more news.
Rather what is going viral now is the smart intelligence of the State Governor, Alhaji Kassim Shettima to pay five million upfront, being to total school fees for the boy to start and complete his studies at the chosen University.
The money was paid to Covenant University, Ogun State to cover his five-year fees and upkeep for Electrical and Electronics Engineering studies.
Analysts say Governor Shettima did that out of fear of his successor coming to truncate the flow of funding somewhere along the period of Zakari’s studies.
Business Hilights gathered further that the 17-year-old Israel lost his father, an army major, in 2014, and has been taken care of along his siblings by his mother.
