Following last week’s approval for the dissolution of all Statutory Commissions in Imo State by the Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, who relied on the Imo State House of Assembly Resolution 177 paragraph (2) of 3rd June, 2019 on the above subject, affected officers are to handover today most senior officials in their respective commissions.
A statement issued by Uche Onyeagucha, Secretary to the Government showed that the affected Commissions include Civil Service Commission, Local Government Service Commission, Judicial Service Commission, House of Assembly Service Commission, Imo State Independent Electoral Commission and Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission.
In line with the dissolutions, Onyeagucha said Chairmen and Members of these Commissions are directed to vacate their offices and hand over all Government property in their possession to the Permanent Secretary/the most Senior Officer in their respective Commissions.
While thanking out-going Chairmen and Members of the Commissions for their Services to the State, the statement made it clear that “All handing over and taking over formalities must be completed on or before close of work Monday 1st July, 2019”.
