As part of ongoing remodelling of heavy-duty truck activities across the federation with a view to limiting instances of traffic blockages and wrong parking on highways, concessionaire of Obollo-Afor Truck Transit Park (TTP) in Enugu State will be unveiled today.
The handling agency, the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) had been receiving bids from interested investors over the past few for the advertised Request for Qualification of the development of the TTP.
The council said the qualification process for the selection of a private partner through a competitive bidding process for the development of the TTP is part of the activities to sanitise the nation’s highways especially within and around mega cities.
Details gathered by Business Hilights showed that the selected private partner would undertake to design, finance, build, operate, maintain and transfer based on terms and conditions to be set out in the concession agreement.
According to the Executive Secretary of NSC, Barr Hassan Bello, “The overall objective of the selection process will be the successful procurement of a concessionaire with technical and financial capability to DFBOT the facility within the concession period for the optimal benefit of the country.”
Aside Obolo-Afor, there are other emerging TTP across the federation including those at Aba, Benin and others.
