NPA’s truck call up system easing traffic gridlock around Apapa Ports—Police
The Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, Apapa, Muhammed Uba Kura, has said the call up system initiated by NPA has significantly help reduce the traffic gridlock around Apapa Ports.
Speaking alongside the Ports Manager, Lagos Port Complex, Mrs Olufunmilayo Olotu, during a courtesy visit to Apapa Bulk Terminals Limited (ABTL), Kura advised trailer owners and drivers to continue to cue into the initiative so as to return permanent sanity along the ports access roads.
The Police boss accordingly promised to always ensure strict enforcement for the good of stakeholders and Lagosians generally.
Olotu, who assured more collaboration with the Nigerian police to make the ports safer, urged the police to support the port operations and ensure safety of operators and stakeholders around the port at all times.
Earlier in her address at the ABTL, Olotu urged the operators to support the Federal Government’s trade facilitation agenda and cooperate with NPA in the quest for a redefined port system.
She further sought the support of the terminal operators to take Lagos Ports Complex to the next level in line with the agenda of the Managing Director of NPA, Hadiza Bala Usman.
According to her, Cooperation among stakeholders remains the key to enhance efficiency and harmony in the ports.
