In line with local content policy and blossoming confidence on Globacom’s telecoms technology, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has not only chosen the national carrier in driving its operations across the country via its Intelligent Wide Area Network (IWAN), but has commended it for breaking expectation records.
The Corporation averred weekend that Globacom’s IWAN was conceptualised to power connectivity across 139 locations of NNPC all over the country to enable their various departments do their businesses with utmost efficiency, while keeping track of their assets and operations across Nigeria.
Speaking during the opening of a two-day CS-Connect programme and exhibition at the Amphitheatre, NNPC Headquarters in Abuja, the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Corporate Services at NNPC, Mr Isa Inuwa, commended Globacom for its support and described the company as a reliable and committed partner in its CS-Connect project, which is the foundation for the full automation of its operations in the nearest future.
According to him, “NNPC used the CS-Connect to congregate its staff from all over the country to showcase the achievements of the corporation in the areas of policy development/reviews, project conception, execution and implementation among others.”
Business Hilights gathered that the occasion, themed: ‘Integrate, Automate and Elevate’ was organised as a CS-Connect exhibition to showcase all the corporation’s partners involved in the project in order to exhibit their products and services, as well as interact with top management of NNPC who hold different portfolios within the corporation.
Industry observers say since the introduction of Glo Yakata, Globacom has won the hearts of Nigerians on data reliant businesses.
Besides, Globacom’s uncommon quest for innovation has led the company to invest massively in building first-class telecommunications infrastructure in the countries where it has footprint. The company launched its efforts to connect Nigeria to the rest of the world with its own submarine cable and repositioned itself as the “Grandmaster of Data,” seamlessly connecting businesses to consumers in cities, towns and villages.
Industry followers say the feat performed by Globacom for NNPC remains a strong sign of national economic synergy driven by superior service delivery qualities of the telecom conglomerate.
