Less than one week after appointment and decoration, the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has announced far-reaching reforms and changes that will be germane to successful general elections next month.
First he started with sacking the former image-maker, Mr. Moshood Jimoh, who observers say did not do well within the period under review and replaced him with Frank Mbah, who can be said to be returning to familiar space.

Disbanded FSARS Squad

Besides, Adamu had earlier nullified several in-house appointments and transfers made in a hurry by the former IGP, Mr. Ibrahim Idris.
The latest move which analysts see as one of the most strategic was ordering the immediate disbandment of the Federal Special Anti-robbery Robbery Squad (FSARS), Special Investigation Panel (SIP) and Special Tactical Squad (STS).
Adamu announced this on Monday at his inaugural conference with Commissioners of Police and other senior officers in Abuja.
Police image-maker confirmed to Business Hilights that on the strength of the latest directive, “FSARS will henceforth be domiciled under the direct supervision of the commissioners of police in 36 states of the federation”.
