Leading telecoms giant, MTN Nigeria is set to extend lead in being number one preferred data plan services following the recent announcement of price slash across all its data plans and offerings.
This is coming few days after it launched 4G+ to deepen 4G LTE user experience across the federation.

The statistics showed that overall Internet users rose to 122,624,417 in May from the 119,506,430 recorded in April, showing a 2.6 per cent growth in subscribers.
Further review of the NCC statistics showed that MTN gained the most with 2,406,627 new Internet users, increasing its subscription in May to 52,433,020 from 50,026,393 recorded in April.
Besides, 9mobile was the big loser within the period even as new Internet users of 82,637 were added on the Visafone’s 800 MHz spectrum owned by MTN, thus providing further advantage to MTN Nigeria in internet user leadership in the country.
Details of the new data price slash showed that under the new price structure, customers can now enjoy more value for money with up to 30% more data volume for 30-day plans even as they would also enjoy up to 100% incremental volume for weekly data plans and 25% incremental volume for daily plans.

He said increased quality and speed on the MTN network, had enabled customers explore new ways to use old services while discovering new applications, saying “In the space of a few years, people went from instant messaging to sharing funny videos and from listening to music to streaming high definition movies”.
According to him, “Peoples data needs have changed, we recognise that. Our customers need much more and we are delivering that for less.
Business Hilights gathered that to enjoy the price slash, a customer can dial 131, *131# or download the MyMTNApp on their mobile phones.
Data bundles are also available via all bank mobile apps, mobile banking channels or by USSD.
