More confusion trailing Federal Character Commission on appointments
There has been a range of complains trailing a number appointments made by the federal government which several Nigerians have been seeking the attention of the Federal Character Commission for clarifications.
Though the Senate has welded into the recent recruitment exercise by the Department of Security Service (DSS) where it was alleged that, whereas recruits from other states were in the region of six or seven, a total of 57 were taken from Zamfara State alone. The 57 outnumbered the total of recruits from the entire South East states alone.
In another development, Section 21 (2) of Pencom Reform Act 2014 states: “In the event of a vacancy, the President shall appoint a replacement from the geo-political zone of the immediate past member who vacated the office to complete the remaining tenure.”
Chinelo Anohu-Amazu is from South East. Dikko is from North West. Doherty is from South west.
The question then remains why was no one from the SE appointed to replace Chinelo?
