Just in: NWC finally ratifies Sanwo-Olu win in Lagos APC primaries

Wednesday morning in a terse press briefing attended only two media houses including TVC and Lagos TV, the National Working Committee (NWC) panel of the All Progressives Congress (APC) sent from Abuja to monitor the party’s governorship primary in Lagos State has suddenly changed its earlier stand on the Lagos APC guber primaries to ratify the result which he originally described as dismissed.
Chairman of the panel, Mr Clement Ebri, who addressed the press in Alausa, Ikeja, declared Jide Sanwo-Olu winner of the election with 970, 851 votes as incumbent Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode scored 72,901.
This according to political pundits, settles all the controversy trailing the entire primaries including all the back and forth since last weekend to date.
Observers say whereas the party’s flag bearer, Sanwo-Olu had accepted the result, there are strong indications that the seating Governor, Mr. Ambode to address the state as soon as possible.
Key comment of the winner, Sanwo-Olu, which centered on all inclusive governance may have been the big minus in Ambode’s administration which may have forced the state party hierarchy to seal the second term bid of the incumbent.
