*PDP rejects Orlu Senate results, says votes outnumbered registered voters
Strong indication has emerged suggesting that the final set of states presidential election results that will determine the exact winner of the Nigerian presidential election held Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 may be announced Tuesday morning.
This is as the senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Imo West (Orlu Zone); Chief Jones Onyereri has rejected the result declared by the returning officer, Francis Ibeawuchi at the collation center in Orlu local government area of Imo state early Monday.
He alleged that the returning officer, Ibeawuchi was forced to declare Okorocha winner.
According to him, “I am here to alert the whole world an hour ago that collation center for the Imo West Senatorial district have been invaded alleging that, “they are forcing the returning officer, Professor Francis Ibewuchi to declare Okorocha winner.
Onyereri expressed worry over the manner at which “the governor, with his staff, security agents led by the assistant Commissioner of police, Onu arrived at the collation center.
“At about 1am, Ibeawuchi pleaded that let us go to Owerri and announce this result that he is not safe again at the collation center, but they refused and stopped the man I hope the man stays alive in the next one minute. We are calling on international community to come to our rescue concerning the invasion.”
“Just imagine, the number turned out in Ideato federal constituency is far above the registered voters.
“As it is now, they have not announced the genuine results, that is why they refused the man from coming to Owerri,” Onyeriri claimed.
On the possible time for the final presidential results, a top official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) who spoke on grounds of anonymity in a telephone interview averred that “Considering some levels of logistics in some distant states, many will arrive the Abuja presidential collation centre later today and before they will be ready to deliver their results, it will be approaching mid night to early tomorrow morning”.
As at 3.00PM, only two states results have been announced including Osun where the APC polled 347,634, and PDP polled 337,377, while in Ekiti State, APC polled 219,231 while the PDP gathered 154,032.
In the FCT, APC polled 152,224 while PDP polled 259,997
Election analysts say, following unconfirmed reports relating to other remaining states and the already announced results from two states, it would be very hard to predict who will finally win the presidential election.
They argued that the pattern of voting displaced by Nigerians in terms of choice of candidate across the state is very hard to predict a winner until the very last state is announced and winner declared by INEC chairman.
