Just in: Court ends Nwosu, Okorocha’s son-in-law’s hope of Douglas House access
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja and presided over by Justice Ekwo in suit no: FHC/ABJ/CS/235/2019 between ACTION PEOPLE’S PARTY AND ANOR. VS. INEC AND 2ORS, early Monday morning, nailed the aspiration of Mr. Uche Nwosu of becoming the Governor of Imo state.
Recall that the Imo State Government House is popularly known as Douglas House.
The Court ruled inter-alia that the nomination of Uche Nwosu by APC and AA on 5th and 6th of Oct 2018 amounts to multiple/double nomination and therefore offends the provisions of section 87 of the electoral act 2010 as amended.
A clear message from the landmark Judgment means that the aspirations of Uche Nwosu of becoming Imo State Governor, including other cases he has going on in other courts and the election tribunal have been quashed.
This is based on the ruling that he was not even eligible to have been on the ballot paper in the first place. His case at the tribunal and imaginary hope of participating in a possible Re run are now dead aspirations.
Reacting, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, the APP National Chairman, said the ruling is a pass mark for democracy.
