INEC Registration: South East lags behind as N’West, S’West, N’Central lead

The ongoing nationwide Voter Registration Exercise being driven by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have started displaying some trends that suggest impending voter apathy in two regions of the country.

Checks on INEC statistics show that whereas North West lead in the exercise with 18, 033, 850, South East tends to display apathy as it records the lowest with 8,146, 833.

Already, a number of politically inclined Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the South East have started serious enlightenment campaign across the region to mobilize adults to register and get their PVC cards ahead of 2019 general elections.

1). South South – 10, 676,957

2). South East – 8,146, 833

3). South West – 14, 220, 569

4). North East – 9, 325,647

5). North Central – 11,157, 988

6). North West – 18, 033, 850
