Encomiums as Ugwuanyi begins revival of ageing highlife legend, Mike Ejiagha
Leading ageless South East highlife music maestro, Chief Mike Ejiagha is now receiving special life changing attention from the Enugu State government, following a public outcry by Nigerians who saw him in a sorry state of living at his residence at Abakpa, Enugu.
Business Hilights gathered that a Good Samaritan, Charles Ogbu had few days ago trailed the musician and posted his deteriorating state of life and living on social media which went viral and activated the benevolence spirit of the Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuayi.
The governor immediately paid an unscheduled visit to his residence and saw things himself.
It was discovered that whereas the music icon is now living a suffering life, the poor health condition of his wife was compounding the already hopeless scenario.
But the good news is that right on the visit, the Governor announced placing Chief Ejiagha on a monthly stipend henceforth.
Other goodies for the icon made public by the Governor include granting automatic appointment/employment to one of his children to help support her father, directing the family to transfer medical details of the Ejeaghas to the state teaching hospital, Parklane, to enable the State Government pick the medical bills henceforth, and finally promising to begin reconstruction of the street leading to Ejeagha’s residence at Abakpa, known as Mike Ejeagha Street.
There were unprecedented outpourings of accolades on social media over the governor’s gesture to resuscitate the ageing national music figure, Chief Mike Ejiagha.
