As part of being at the forefront of Continental financial giant that will drive the fast approaching takeoff of the Africa Continental Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) expected to begin from July this year, Ecobank Nigeria has increased its support opportunities for exporters and importers within the African region and Nigeria in particular with its unique intra-Africa trade solutions.
The solution enable settlements of trade transactions and mitigates payment risk; provide regional solutions and enable exporters obtain payment guarantees without the need for a letter of credit and its related costs to the importers.
Already, the bank announces readiness for the Ecobank 2020 regional trade forum taking place in Lagos between March 12 and 13.
In an interview with Business Hilights in Lagos, Head Trade Finance of Ecobank Nigeria, Mr Sunday Abah said Ecobank works closely with clients in reviewing key factors regarding transactions processing, settlements, financing, and risk mitigation as well as credit enhancement.
He averred that the bank currently boasts of a unique and large Pan-African platform that positions it to support trade at all levels. Its technology platform is designed to help unlock the opportunities of the continent through standardization across 33 countries, while fuelling regional integration, trade and investment across borders.
He said exporters and importers within the African region will have the opportunity to exhibit their products in a marketplace scenario, and participate in panel discussions by highly experienced and diversified stakeholders and leaders of thought in the industry
