It has been pomp and celebration of job well done in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital following the timely delivery of the 17-storey headquarters of the Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) in the state since this month.

Checks by Business Hilights South-South Bureau chief revealed that the imposing edifice comes with multi-storey park, 1000-seater conference centre, gas powered 24/7 electricity from IPP, to avoid an estimated N20m yearly costs on fuel.

Aside being delivered 100% by Nigerian engineers, strong indications emerged from an official of the Board, who averred that “by virtue of our name and what we stand for, NCDMB ensured that Nigerians are involved in all the building projects by foreign contractors.”

The NCDMB was established by the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act which came into effect on April 22, 2010 to promote the development and utilization of in-country capacities for the industrialization of Nigeria through the effective implementation of the Nigerian Content Act

Feelers are rife that President Muhammadu Buhari is technically waiting for the inauguration of the government of the APC lead Governor-elect to come for the commissioning of the edifice.
