It was fanfare as President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, chief Guest of Honour at the Ghana Club 100 Awards, handed over corporate leadership plaque to MTN Ghana as the Number One Company of the Year for the second consecutive year.
The 18th Edition of the Ghana Club 100 Awards, organised by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), was held in Accra, the nation’s capital.
Business Hilights Ghana Bureau Chief reports that President Akufo-Addo presented the Number One Company Award to Mr. Samuel Koranteng, the Corporate Services Executive of MTN.
President Akufo-Addo, in his address, re-affirmed his Government’s commitment to supporting the private sector to thrive, saying; “We want to do whatever we can to make sure the private sector flourishes and develops Ghana”.
“So count on the support of this government for whatever you’re doing. Our hearts and minds are clear. We want you to succeed because when you succeed, government succeeds,” the President said.
Responding, Koranteng expressed appreciation to the Board, Management and staff of the MTN Ghana for their hard work and dedication to duty, and said the Award was dedicated to the Company’s loyal customers and clients.
He pledged MTN’s commitment towards the socio-economic development of the nation and to help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
He assured that the company would continue to collaborate with government and all other relevant stakeholders to provide stellar services to its cherished subscribers nationwide.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chief Executive of GIPC, Mr. Yofi Grant said the Ghana Club 100 Awards was instituted in 1998 and had built a reputation as a credible system for ranking the top 100 performing private companies in Ghana.
According to him, “Ghana Club 100 Awards aims at encouraging and nurturing them to develop locally and internationally, to compete favourably on the global markets.”
