Air Peace seals Embraer spare parts supply deal as more ordered aircrafts arrive
As part of changing the old narrative of weak maintenance culture of Nigerian firms, Air Peace has signed a multi-year aircraft spare parts deal with Brazilian aircraft manufacturer, Embraer.
This is coming as the leading indigenous carrier is continuing in taking deliveries of some of the ordered new aircrafts.
Air Peace had as part of its expansion drive, sealed a multibillion naira funding deal with Fidelity Bank Plc., for the purchase of 10 new passenger aircrafts.
According to the airline, the new spare parts supply deal would cover more than 250 components for the six Embraer 145 jets it recently acquired to connect un-served and underserved domestic and regional routes under its subsidiary, Air Peace Hopper.
Business Hilights gathered that the deal was consummated at the ongoing MRO Europe 2018 summit in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Explaining more, the Chief Operating Officer of Air Peace, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Olajide, averred that the carrier currently has the biggest fleet of Embraer 145 jets on the West Coast of Africa.
Noting that the spare parts deal is a guarantee of efficiency and competitive results, Olajide said it would make spare parts readily available for the airline’s maintenance needs, help to cut down the time spent on maintenance and increase the number of serviceable aircraft available to operate the flight schedules.
In her further submission, she added that “Embraer’s Pool and EPEP+ programmes are natural fit and the best options as they offer sensible, cost-effective and practical parts solution to our business, guaranteeing efficiency and competitive results. We recognise the very good performance of Embraer’s services and support,”
Making his remarks, the Vice-President, Customer Relationship Management, Commercial Aviation, Embraer, Mr John Linn, said that the manufacturer was humbled to have Air Peace as its customer in Africa, as it further reinforced the manufacturer’s commitment to customers in the region with TechCare portfolio of solutions.
