Based on testimonies of majority of Abians, the appointment of Dr. ACB Agbazuere by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu as his Chief of Staff (CoS) on November 5, 2019, is just a timely masterstroke.
Leading political pundits and followers of Abia politics aver that for the governor to have picked a man with Agbazuere’s pedigree as his chief of staff, it is unmistakable that Ikpeazu craves a deeper connection with the people he had vowed to serve. Ikpeazu loves the people and wants to be a man of the people.
For Uzoma Amogu, a political analyst, “Ikpeazu may have heard that cry and decided to respond. And he has started responding by carefully picking a cabinet that would help him deliver good governance. One of those appointments is that of his chief of staff, Dr. ACB Agbazuere”.
Those familiar with workings at the Government House at Umuahia, the office of the Chief of Staff has been a beehive of activities.
No day has ever passed without unions, groups and political associations taking to their turns in facilitating with the man they call theirs.
The coterie of traditional rulers is not left out as each has called on our Ancestors to guide and protect their son.
For political pundits, the position of the chief of staff to the governor is a significant one since he would be the most senior political appointee of the state government.
They went further to say that he acts as a senior aide with the responsibility of assisting and advising the governor in the administration and management of the daily affairs of the government.

Dr. Anthony Chidi Brains Agbazuere was born to Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Dick Nmerengwa Agbazuere of the great village of IKEM (My strength) in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State of Nigeria on the 15th day of May, 1964.
He holds several certificates and degrees including BA(ED), LLB, BL, LLM and Ph.D. in law with distinction. He has written articles in several journals and co-authored JURISPRUDENCE
INTERROGATES AFRICAN LAW with Professor Eze Ngwakwe.
He also has some unpublished works.
Dr Agbazuere is the current chief of staff to Abia State Governor.
Dr. Agbazuere was Abia State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) from 1993-1999, National Co-ordinating Chairman of the 36 State Councils of NLC including Abuja, and Leader Nigerian Workers delegation to the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Geneva, Switzerland in 1997.
Dr. Agbazuere has been Abia State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism twice and the maiden Commissioner for Information and Strategy. Dr. Agbazuere is also former Executive Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State and former National Vice Chairman to Dr. Beko Ransome Kuti in Campaign for Democracy (CD). He is the founder and Executive Director of Global Centre for Peace and Justice, a Non Governmental Human Rights Organisation.
Dr. Agbazuere is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), life member Pan African Lawyers Union (PALU) with headquarters in Tanzania and Patron International Bar Association (IBA). He is also patron and life member, Ngwa National Association, USA (NNAUSA). He is the head of Chambers, Dr. ACB Agbazuere’s law firm with offices in Abuja and Umuahia,
Nigeria. He is a Lecturer of law at the Abia State University Uturu, Nigeria and served as Judge, International Criminal Court Moot Court at The Hague, Netherlands. Dr. Agbazuere was the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Abia State Passenger Integrated Manifest and Safety Scheme (ASPIMSS).
Dr. Agbazuere holds over one hundred chieftaincy titles including Ochiagha Nvosi, Nwaejiamata Izu of Aba, Ikenga of Isiala Bende, Ohamadike of Ututu Arochukwu, Akaekpuchi Onwa of Ipu East in Ukwa, Iyierioba of Afara Ibeku, Ikemba of Isiuzo in Enugu State, Omeakara Oha of Ngwaukwu, EgbemgburuAgu 1, Mma Agha and Duke of Ngwaland.
Dr. Agbazuere is the President of OWEH Structure Worldwide. He is happily married with Children.
