The leadership of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) Tuesday denied earlier speculations that closed Nigerian land borders would be opened on January 1, 2020, saying “No terminal date has been slated”.
“January 1, 2020 is only the end of the first phase of the closure which does not translate to mean opening of the border.
These were the remarks made by the PRO of the Service, Mr Joseph Attah in a Radio Programme monitored in Abuja at the eve of the New Year 2020.
Continuing, he said “The international airports and seaports are there for genuine international business transactions, imports and exports to thrive as the land borders remained closed.”
