Ihedioha adopts whistle blowing policy to recover public property, assets
The Imo State Moveable Assets Recovery Committee (IMARC), set up by the governor of Imo State, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, has stepped up moves to recover missing government assets.
In a public announcement made available to Business Hilights South East Bureau chief in Owerri, the Committee is appealing to all citizens of the state who have reliable information to the recovery of Imo property, wherever they may be located to please avail the Committee with such information and they would be adequately compensated in line with the policy of whistle blowing.
IMARC listed the suspected missing public assets to include Motor vehicles, Generators, Household furniture and equipment, Office furniture and equipment, Televisions/Radio/Photocopy machines, Street lights/poles, Armord cables, and even Transformers, plus others.
The committee gave out telephone numbers (09075039984, 08101328460) to be used for the information and assure that “your identity would be highly protected”.
Though the Committee begged on Imo indigenes to “Be a patriotic citizen and help rebuild Imo,” the announcement signed by its chairman, Hon. Jasper Ndubuaku, was silent on rewards for release of credible information that will lead to the recovery of government assets.
