Customs FOU Zone ‘C’ boss, Bukar deepens relations with Army on regional security
As part new ideas to domesticate the recent Executive Orders issued by the Acting President, several security formations have keyed in to the directive. Some have already gone the extra mile of refreshing and building new strategic relations to deliver quality service.
Accordingly, the Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Federal Operations Unit Zone (FOU) Zone C Owerri, Comptroller Amajam Bukar on Tuesday hosted the Brigade Commander, 34 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Hamza Bature and members of his entourage who came on a courtesy visit.
Earlier during the reception, Amajam expressed his delight at the visit stating that collaboration with other security agencies is critical to the success of some of the anti-smuggling activities in the Zone.
He presented set of enlightenment materials of the zone to the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Bature and called on other security agencies to complement each other’s efforts while achieving their different mandates.
Responding, the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Bature said his visit was to familiarize with the Customs Federal Operations Unit Zone C, Owerri as one of the critical stakeholders in security management of the state and nation at large.
He commended the anti-smuggling activities of the Zone which he said has helped to checkmate the influx of offensive weapons into the society and also praised the Service for boosting the economy of the nation through revenue generation.
While stating that all security agencies are relevant in the maintenance of safety and security in the state, Brigadier General Bature called on all security agencies in the state to join hands in integrated efforts to ensure the peace, safety and security of the state and the nation.
