Mallam Awwalu Sahilu, EVC, Nasarawa Broadcasting Service
Following his excellent service delivery during his first term in office as the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS), Governor Abdullahi Sule has renewed the appointment of Mallam Awwalu Salihu for another period of two years.
The Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Labaran Shuaibu Magaji (Matawalle Toto), a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, made this known in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Awwalu Salihu’s reappointment was in furtherance of the present administration’s commitment to sustaining the strides achieved so far in its efforts towards repositioning and re-strengthening the NBS to enable the state-owned institution to compete with other broadcast media houses in the country.
The reappointment takes effect immediately, the statement added.
Business Hilights recalls that Salihu, a former Director of Public Affairs at the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), was first appointed in 2022 by Governor Sule following the creation of the office. Until his appointment, he was a lecturer with the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK).
The office of the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) is superior to that of the General Manager (GM), currently occupied by Mrs. Patricia Akawu.
