…Wants Taxpayers take advantage of e-Filling window till Feb. 28
The Executive Chairman of Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), Mr. Justice R. Okoye, FCA has taken a retrospective look at the 2025 financial year at the Service and thanked God for the unprecedented success recorded by the agency under his command.
In a viral Facebook post, Okoye averred that “I am proud to share that under my leadership as The Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service – IIRS, we achieved an all-time high in revenue collection in 2025. This milestone has played a key role in helping our beloved State reduce its domestic debt from ₦151 billion in 2020 to ₦90.5 billion in 2025 this is a clear reflection of what can be achieved through dedication, technology, and the cooperation of our taxpayers.
“By the directive of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, and with the deployment of technology-driven systems, we have successfully blocked leakages, enhanced transparency, and improved compliance, ensuring that every naira due to the State is properly accounted for.
“This achievement is not just about numbers but it is about giving Imo State the financial strength to invest in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and the future of our people. I remain committed to driving efficiency, innovation, and accountability, so that together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous Imo State.
Talking about 2026, Okoye said “As we begin a new week, I warmly wish all Ndi Imo and our esteemed taxpayers a productive and successful week ahead. May your efforts bring positive results and progress.
“I also wish to remind you to take advantage of our E-Filing platform to conveniently file your tax returns from anywhere with ease.
“Please note that the deadline for E-Filing is 28th February 2026. Kindly ensure you file on or before the due date to remain compliant.
Okoye assured that “Together, we can continue to build a stronger Imo State.”
