His Royal Highness (HRH), Eze Amb. Dr. Damian Emeka Obianigwe, KSM, according to many that know him in business, faith, leadership intelligence and public life is an institution, where people that want to go far, come to learn success strategies and leadership tactics. On December 30th, 2025, he hosted who-is-who in Southeast on the occasion of his Ofala/4th Coronation anniversary at his ultra-modern palace in Isi-Ihiteowerri autonomous community, Orlu LGA of Imo State.
In this executive media chat with Business Hilights Editorial Team in his Office in Lagos, he opens up on what happened on a day he counts as his happiest. Excerpts:
Your Highness, sir, on December 30th, 2025, you did your Ofala/4th Coronation anniversary in your palace. How do you feel on the huge success of the event from the Church Service to all the activities at your Palace?
Good afternoon Prince Okenwa and your team. I feel honored. I don’t know how to express it. In fact, that day was my best day in life apart from the day I was born, the day I wedded and other beautiful days in my life. Am humbled seeing my friends celebrating me alive; the Governor, Bishop, over 30 reverend fathers, name them. And all the people in maritime industry from Lagos and beyond. My community members and neighbouring towns, all were around me.
I don’t know how to express it, but I will say that it remains the best day of my life. If you are in the church, you can see what I said. I don’t need to mention all the dignitaries and well-wishers that graced the occasion, however, let me use His Excellency, the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma as the point of contact to everybody who graced the occasion to say my big thanks to his Excellency.
Upon his busy schedules, he spared out time to honor me and my community. I don’t think there is a love more than that. He has showed me the highest love ever. So let it be a point of contact to thank others who graced the occasion including the Bishop himself – that is to tell you that God’s hands was on the occasion.
Without God, it wouldn’t have been possible. Also, the Governor who made everything possible to ensure that the security in Imo state, not only in OCHASI in Imo state but Imo state in general is calm and peaceful throughout.
There was no security breach in December. In-fact throughout October till now, there is no incident apart from small–small pockets which is normal in the world.
So he has done well and his is doing well security wise.
Thank you sir. What is your message to the Governor on the need for a new bridge on Orashi River bordering your community and Obodoukwu in Ideato-North LGA of Imo State? The President General of your community and those of neighbouring communities’ including Amanator-Ihiteowerri and Obodoukwu have approached the state government for that bridge.
Let me tell you, that bridge and road are as important as my daily food. Even to the Governor, he knows about the road and bridge. When he was a senator, he had been championing that road and now that he is a Governor, I think if not due to the issues of insecurity, that bridge would have been done.
I believe my Governor, he will do the bridge and road soon. By his grace, he will do that road. Its very important to him because he knows that the road is connecting Obodoukwu, my community, Amanator to Orlu town. The road also links major towns of Anambra State. Let me shock you, it will take me about 20mins from my house to drive to Onitsha if that road it through.
That road is as important as my food and I believe the governor is on it.
What is your advice to Ochasiato Youth on how best to develop the region?
Well you know I am a champion of development and I always tell them to emulate me, do more than me because is only a wicked man who will say that he will always be more than his children. But a good man will say that his children will be more than him. So, they will do more than me in developing our region which is in need of fast development.
I pray they will overtake me in every area of life. I think I have laid a foundation for them to follow and ensure that peace, unity and progress are on course.
A developmental plan is already there and the security plan is there too. So let them follow the foot step I have laid in bringing development down to our region.
