The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has converted the goodwill message opportunity given to him at the Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) National Aviation Conference in Lagos to showcase critical investment climate in his state following recent upgrades he has made in the state Airport, the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport (SMICA).
In his address, Senator Uzodimma averred that “The FAAN National Aviation Conference reinforced my conviction that Nigeria’s evolving aviation landscape is central to national growth.
“The conversations on air connectivity, inter-modal integration, and public-private partnerships highlight the urgency of building an aviation ecosystem aligned with global standards of safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
“In my goodwill message at the conference, I noted that these principles guide our approach in Imo State, where aviation is a core economic enabler.
“By upgrading the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport (SMICA), we are positioning the State as a regional logistics hub.
“Coupled with the Orashi Special Energy Free Trade Zone, this creates a seamless investment corridor linking energy, agriculture, and digital services to global markets.
“With modernized infrastructure, improved power reliability, and streamlined land administration, Imo offers an environment ready for scale.
“I see immense opportunity for investors to join us in shaping a future of accelerated, aviation-driven growth”, Governor Uzodimma concluded.
