The reoccurring incidents of desecration and abuse of Igbo heritage and the cheap sale of the remaining respect that Ndigbo can rely on is asking for retrospection.
The attention of the world-wide leadership of the Igbo apex sociocultural organisation (Ohaneze-Ndigbo) should be drawn to the unending rascality that is slowly becoming a norm where some Igbo social hustlers overlook the negative effects of their hustles and the damages they serve on the integrity of the Igbo nation at large.
The recent advertorials of hosting the #ADA OHANEZE INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL BEAUTY PAGEANT in the Lagos state that competes against the core states of the Igboland on the excuses of lack of support from South East governors and other potential Igbo funders cannot be acceptable.
If the excuse that is sponsored online by one Igwebuike Val is anything to work with, one may be left with asking what’s gone wrong between governors of the core South Eastern (Igbo) states and the funding consensus of the leadership of Ohaneze-Ndigbo to allow for such a sale of Igbo cultural identity and the celebration of Igbo unity to Lagos state governor as claimed?
Instances abounds where the Igbo national identity is toasted for insignificant rewards and the world-wide leadership of Ohaneze-Ndigbo cannot continue to play the Ostrich.
The Igbo apex sociocultural organisation is hereby called to institute serious sanctions on any individual or group of persons who may, for obvious personal aggrandisement, continue to undermine the Igbo nation.
No other town or state outside Igboland can be good enough to host any Igbo cultural event in Nigeria than the towns and states of the South East.
