Since the highly successful raids on fakers of engine oil carried out by the Department of State Security (DSS) at ASPMDA, Lagos International Trade Fair complex on Badagry Expressway, some weeks ago, more major dealers in oil and allied products have continued to thank both the administration of Hon. Ngozi Emechebe as president of ASPMDA and the Lagos State Director of the DSS, Mr. Babajide Adisa, for restoring sanity in the market. ASPMDA is Auto Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers Association.

In an executive interview with Business Hilights in his office on Tuesday, Managing Director of Chucorl Nigeria Limited, Chief Oliver Jacob, popularly known as Chucorl, thanked the intelligent security operative for the successful raids, saying “Our daily sales have gone up sharply since after the raids and we are now making headway in business unlike before the raids when fake products are frustrating our sales?
He said “In fact, I thank the DSS for the raid. I deal on oil products and fakers of oil have done a lot of damage in ASPMDA. We thank DSS for that clearance and we want them to continue to keep an eye in ASPMDA until the oil criminals have gone forever. He also thanked the courage of ASPMDA President in giving DSS, the needed support in the fight against fake products in ASPMDA.
According to him, “Selling fake oil brings bad name to ASPMDA as a leading auto market in Africa. We have been disturbed because of the activities of those adulterating oil products.
The DSS came to my shop and were happy that we do not involve in fake products.”
“We sell original manufacturers products like Total, Oando and other products that have been allowed to sell, I am happy that the fakers have been arrested.
