Customs Area Controller Tincan Island Port Command, Comptroller Frank Onyeka
The Tin Can Island Port Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has set a new record in revenue generation of ₦128,446,323,224.79 in May 2025 at a time it is deepening commitment to trade facilitation and anti-smuggling campaign.
A statement made available by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, SC Oscar Ivara, explained that the new feat under the leadership of Comptroller Frank Okechukwu Onyeka is coming from sustained strategic management intelligence deployed to grow reveneue in the command.
The May revenue figure clearly represents a substantial increase compared to the ₦92,671,603,418.04 generated in the corresponding month of May 2024.
According to the statement, revenue performance in April 2025 was very outstanding as the Command generated ₦145,000,000,000.00, which was more than the ₦95,500,000,000.00 generated in April 2024.
These steady monthly increases attest to a trend of increased effectiveness and better performance at the command.
Comptroller Onyeka has been very focused and uncompromising in ensuring that all loopholes are blocked as he gives effective coordination to the Command’s activities since assuming office as controller of the command.
Commenting on the new record broken, Onyeka reiterated his commitment to achieving seamless revenue generation through legitimate means, stating: “My aim is to generate revenue seamlessly. I encourage trade facilitation, but the trade has to be legitimate and not harmful to the economy.”
