When the administration of Chief Oscar Odogwu came in very few years ago in the Balogun Business Administration (BBA), International Center of Commerce (ICC), Lagos International Trade Fair complex, many thought that he was alien to good leadership and democratic governance.
However, a number of strategic steps he took immediately he took over started to change narratives first inside the BBA.
He took off with restructuring the administrative organogram and plaza mapping with regular drainage monitoring and clearing from time to time, thus ending serial flooding of the BBA section of the complex.
Another hard nut to crack which he eventually cracked was the dismantling of offensive attachment shops defacing the beauty of BBA over the years. Undercover investigations by Business Hilights within BBA showed that today, many parts that were hitherto very hard to drive through are now motorable with ease.
Further recent checks showed that virtually all drainage channels that were hitherto known for heavy blockage are now cleaned and made to be free-flowing; an indication that BBA is seemingly free ahead of upcoming 2025 flooding session courtesy of Oscar Odogwu admonistration.
One of the outstanding factors observable in all these leadership reforms at BBA is that BBA President, Chief Oscar Odogwu makes no noise about them.
Only recently, he paid a courtesy visit to Lagos State Governor at Marina. During the meeting, he called on ASPMDA President to join as men of strategic leadership.
During their executive chat, he drew the attention of the governor on the need for additional pedestrian crossing at Trade Fair Bus Stop considering the massive rise in human traffic crossing the 10-lane highway everyday into the complex.
Immediately, the Governor directed the Ministry of Physical Planning to come for inspection which was led by TPLs. Ahmed and Taiwo. The visiting Town Planners (TPls) in a recent telephone interview informed Business Hilights that they had submitted their report to the Commissioner who is now to advise the Governor on the best option for the project.
Aside Odogwu’s leadership trajectories inside BBA, he has started looking outside BBA; this time, at the entrance and exit gates.
Guess what? Chief Odogwu is currently and silently attracting positive thinking business owners who have seen the imports of his leadership style and have decided to support him by way of opting to pick, build and handover some strategic gates into the BBA plaza.
In a recent telephone interview with Business Hilights, BBA president confided in our publisher that as a way of changing the face of the plaza for good, he has approached some businessmen and women in BBA to come in and build some major gates which will have their names inscribed on them on delivery as a way of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
This singular administrative intelligence has started paying out as the person (name withheld) that picked the main gate has already started changing the face of the gate to a world class edifice.
BBA President told Business Hilights that “One guy was actually attracted to build it for us, one man that deals on cosmetics. He is building the two gates (entrance and exit) for us. On completion, his name or business name will be unveiled at the new gate structure.”
While revealing that the artist writing on the gate has not finished his job, he said “that Courtesy of Oscar Odogwu is not complete yet. The artist will add Administration to make a correct sense on the design; otherwise, it show read; ‘Courtesy: Oscar Odogwu Administration’.
Continuing in the interview, Odogwu revealed also that “Furthermore, there’s even someone that has opted to rebuild the Sokoto Gate as his CSR for BBA which will commence very soon, and also someone else has opted to rebuild the Abia Gate all free for BBA.”
“You see, through cooperate social responsibilities we are getting things done. Even to reconstruct and change the face of our security gate to a story building; there’s someone that I am attracting for that. On their deliveries, their names will be engraved on the structure they built, so we thank God and also thank them for aligning with the direction of my administration.
According to BBA President, we came ready to work for BBA and we are working for BBA today to the glory of God Almighty.
