…Silver Jubilee Award Ceremony Coming Soon—President
Joy and happiness can best be used to describe the atmosphere at the Auto Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers Association (ASPMDA) Square, Main Gate on Friday last week as the group used prayers and thanksgiving to celebrate their 25 years of doing business at the Lagos International trade Fair complex.
The massive event which attracted many corporate bodies doing business at the plaza took off with praise and worship ministration as everywhere was full to the brim considering the closure of all business within the prayer/thanksgiving ceremony.
Meanwhile, the President of ASPMDA, Hon. Ngozi Emechebe (Nmiri-Oma), has assured that whereas Silver Jubilee prayer/thanksgiving is taking place today, February 14, another mega celebration for is coming soon where ASPMDA will honour men and women of caliber who have done much in the progress of ASPMDA in the last 25 years. Also to be hounred will include mega companies both home and abroad that have contributed in the unprecedented progress of ASPMDA in the last 25 years.
According to him, a committee for the award will be set up very soon with a mandate to organize a world-class award ceremony for ASPMDA Silver Jubilee.
Leading the worship extravaganza was leading Prophetess, Mrs. Ijeoma Egwuatu as Guest Minister which she did with precision as she escalated praises to high heavens to the astonishment of joyous ASPMDA members.
However, after hours of worship and songs of praise, the event started with presentation of Kola Nuts where the Exodus president, Chief Charles Ages Okeke asked God to keep prospering ASPMDA to high levels.
In his address of welcome, ASPMDA President, Hon. Ngozi Emechebe started by saying “As we gather to celebrate this momentous occasion, I would like to start by wishing you all a happy valentine’s Day.
“On this day of love, we come together to celebrate our love for ASPMDA, our love for one another and our love for the progress we have made together.”
“Over the past 25 years, ASPMDA has grown from a small group of enterprises to a thriving community of business leaders, innovators and change-makers. Our organization has been built on the principles of excellence, integrity and service, and we have worked tirelessly to promote the interest of our members, support the growth of our community and contribute to the development of our dear nation.
Emechebe recalled that “As we celebrate our past 25 years, let us recall that most of the big players today in the market were still under apprenticeship. Many of the multibillionaires we know today were still beginners, taking their first steps in the world of business. And yet, here we are today, celebrating a quarter-century of trading activities inside the International trade fair complex.
According to him “these achievements were testaments to the vision, resilience and determination of our founding fathers, who dare to dream big and pave the way for our future generations in auto businesses.”
He made it further clear that “ASPMDA has been a breeding ground for many successful enterprises, who have gone on to build solid business empires and create wealth not only for themselves but for their communities and the nation at large”.
“As we look to the future, we are excited about the prospects of new opportunities, new innovations and new successes. We are committed to continuing our legacy of excellence, integrity and service to providing a platform for our members to grow, thrive and succeed.
While praising ASPMDA members for their loyalty to pass and present leadership, he thanked all their partners, stakeholders and business associates for their relentless trust on ASPMDA over the years and assured continuity in ASPOMDA service delivery speed and quality going forward.
Some of the major business partners who presented goodwill message included the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), who made speech bordering on their range of services and importance of insurance policy to every business.
The high point of the occasion was the cutting of the ASPMDA Silver Jubilee Cake designed with almost every spare part sold in the complex as a symbol of excellence and determination to serve the nation.
Present at the ceremony included past presidents from the Exodus leader, Chief Charles Ages Okeke, Chief Johnson Dele Ofortube, Chief Jossy Egwuatu, Chief Sunnex Ohanazoeze, Chief Tony Ughawu, Chief DC offorkansi (BoT Chairman) and Chief Sunny Igboanuzue. Founding father were also represented including Chief Oforma, Amadi and others.
Members and special guests including all the presidents of other major market associations in the complex were present including the chairman of stakeholders and President of APT, Chief Eric Ilechukwu, BBA President, Chief Oscar Odogwu, ATV officials, Tools and Hardware executives led by Chief Kenneth Ezeiruoma, Mandilas President Evang. Emma Ezeani, UASPDA Secretary and President, APT Secretary, Chief Cosmos Okafor and so many personalities in the Who is who in the complex.
