Findings have shown that in the last couple of days, the Federal Government has allegedly laced the Nigerian populace with six new rates and taxes at a time hardship and hunger are ravaging citizens due to policies of the government that have failed to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians since May 29, 2023.
These taxes and rates include but not limited to as follows;
- FOB charges (4% of imports)
- NPA tariff (15% increase)
- TELCOS tariff ( 50% increase)
- ATM charges (100% increase)
- Increased electricity tariff (more than 200% increase proposed )
- Toll fees even as it has started on the Abuja-Makurdi Expressway (proposed)
Already, the Lagos State Government has announced unprecedented hike in Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Fare effective next month.
