
President Tinubu with CEO of Google and other officials in France
President Bola Tinubu has met with the CEO of Google, Mr. Sundar Pichai as part of his drive to deepen digital inclusion in Nigeria at a time telecoms firms are hiking the prices of their services amidst public outcries.
It was gathered that both of them talked about the immense potential of AI in Nigeria, and how Nigeria can partner with Google to expand AI skills, enable innovation, and support Nigeria’s growing tech ecosystem.
Tinubu met Google leade3r in company of Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.
At the meeting, President Tinubu also met with the CEO of Alphabet Inc. during his private visit to France.
Bola Tinubu had left Nigeria last week en route to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he is set to attend the African Union (AU) summit.

According to presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will participate in the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of AU Heads of State, scheduled from February 12 to 16, 2025.
