The newly appointed Chairman, Governing Board, Nigerian Poster Service, Chief D.I Kekemeke on Wednesday, met with the Minister of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani in readiness to take up mandate given him recently by President Bola Tinubu.
Well, Kekemeke is known for efficient and effective performances in public service. He was the pioneer Chairman, National Examinations Council, former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Ondo State, former Secretary to Ondo State Government, to mention but a few.
Whereas the Minister was so happy to have him on board considering his wealth of experience, many industry experts have started raising salient questions on what the Minister or even the Kekemeke can do to a system whose relevance has globally dropped.
Other questions begging for answer included if Dr. Tijani can do more than previous Ministers who kept on coming up with redevelopment ideas until their tenure elapsed or will he do magic after all to start forcing people to drop digital communication and go back to letter writing?
However, to Business Hilights, the best option for the revival of NIPOST will be to convert it to a national Micro Finance Bank because of its reach across all the local governments in Nigeria.
