The leading auto market in Africa, the Auto Spare Parts & Machinery Dealers Association (ASPMDA), Lagos International Trade Fair Complex on Badagry Expressway, today, January 6, 2025, reopened for the business for the year.
The gate-opening ceremony was preceded by thunderous singing of worship songs and praises to God for leading members from last year to the new year 2025.
The prayers led by Pastor Precious prayed for progress of ASPMDA members in the new year and asked God for total protection for all genuine businesses in the plaza.
In his address to members before anointing the main gate and all other gates at ASPMDA, president of the association, Hon. Ngozi Emechebe declared that “2025 is the year of Devine Change for every ASPMDA member”, adding that God will grow many businesses in the complex from prosperity to prosperity this year.
He also advised young boys that are serving their masters in business to remain focused in their training and always believe in God for their successful completion of training and eventual settlement to start their own business.
He also advised ASPMDA members to remain focused in praising God at all times, saying “As ASPMDA starts 2025 with praises to God, we shall all end the year with God in praises, success and progress.
Hon. Emechebe further directed that considering that some members are still enjoying their yuletide, “throughout this week, the gates shall only be opened as soon as much people are sighted at the main gate and every business shall close activities by 4.00pm daily till next week Monday”
According to him, “ASPMDA management shall review the situation on Monday and decide if normal opening and closing hours shall be observed from 13th of January.
In an interview, the former ASPMDA President and current chairman of BoT, High Chief DC Offorkansi who attended the year-opening prayers, thanked God for growing ASPMDA from grace to grace every year and advised members to always trust in God for better progress at all times.
Other plazas that are on for businesses throughout the yuletide included Mechanic Village, Africa Tyre Village and PLOWASS while the remaining stakeholders’ associations that observed break including BBA, Tools and Hardware, UASPDA, MUTA and others are waiting for next Monday, January 13th to fully reopen.
