The 2024 Lagos State International Trade Fair at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), managed by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) yesterday, Sunday, November 10, 2024, ended with the Lagos State Governor, congratulating the organisers for a successful fair.
However, as the TBS Fair ends, local and international exhibitors and lover of fairs will shift attention to the Lagos Trade Fair complex on Badagry Expressway as the massive arena prepares for 2024 Commercial and Industrial Trade Fair (#CITF2024) starting from 15th to 26th this month.
Addressing attendees and organisers during the closing ceremony at TBS, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu congratulated LCCI for a successful outing, saying the state government will continue to partner with the Chamber to grow the private sector of the state with innovation and technical supports from time to time.
Observers at the just concluded fair say the 2024 TBS fair generally witnessed low turnout of both exhibitors and tourists upon the gates were thrown open from day one till the end for free.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director/CEO of Lagos International Trade Fair Complex Management Board (LITFCMB), Barr. Vera Ndanusa has given insights on what both exhibitors and attendees stand to gain from the #CITF2024, saying highest gainers will be Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), who will during the fair have direct access to Bank of Industry (BoI) and possibly apply for business support loans of the Federal Government under the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investments.
She explained to Business Hilights in an interview that LITFCMB will be collaborating with her sister agencies under the same ministry including BoI and others at the Fair to render both technical support and easy access to funding for business growth.
She further revealed that there are about N200bn business support fund domiciled in BoI for SMEs to access seamlessly, adding that BoI will be at the fair to not only explain to business owners on how to access the fund, but also to give the facility to qualified appliers’.
Already many partners have emerged and are very much ready for the fair which is coming after over 14 years of none-conduct of fair at the massive complex.
On facilities and infrastructure on ground for the fair, the Director, Administration and Personnel Management in the complex, Mr. Francis Dajilak while addressing the press recently averred that every needed facility and support logistics have been put in place to make the fair a good experience to both exhibitors and attendees.
Already, key industry players like Dangote Industries, KOTEC Industries Nnewi, Aba Traders and Manufacturers Associations, manufacturers in the South East and parts of the North including international businesses and West Coast economies have all signed in to attend in mass.
Dajilak also revealed that security arrangements are top-notch as booths and spaces have been well mapped out for exhibitors at a very attractive rate.
The #CITF2024 will begin from November 15th to 26 and there are strong indications that the new minister of Industry, Trade and Investments, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole would declare it open.
