Trade Fair Road Reconstruction: NASS Surveyors Coming Thursday to Take Measurements

…We are ready to receive them—Stakeholders

All is set for Quantity Surveyors sent by the leadership of House of Representatives Committee on Commerce to land at the Lagos International Trade Fair complex, Badagry Expressway to take stocks and make findings that will guide the National Assembly in coming up with the exact budget for the reconstruction of the complex ring-road in the 2025 national budget of the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Commerce.

Also to be surveyed by the team is the FESTAC-Trade Fair link-road which took off from FESTAC 2^nd Avenue at Alakija straight to the complex second entrance gate via Abule Ado.

Addressing the Press in her office on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, the Executive Director of the complex, Barr Dr. Vera Ndanusa announced that she has been informed of the coming of the Surveyors from Abuja on Thursday this week which is tomorrow.

Business Hilights recalls that during the oversight function tour of the House Committee last week, the Chairman of the House Committee, Hon. Ahmed Munir, while addressing stakeholders at ASPMDA office after touring the complex with his Committee members assured that “having experienced and seen that the major ring-road serving the complex is in bad state, my Committee will send surveyors from Abuja next week to come and survey the road so as to give us estimates of what it will cost to reconstruct it for ease of doing business in the 2025 national budget.

ASPMDA President had made a passionate appeal for the ring-road and the adjoining FESTAC 2^nd Avenue link-road to the complex before the lawmakers and in their magnanimity, they promised to take up the challenge of fixing and finding a lasting solution to the roads.

In a telephone interview with the Chairman of Trade Fair Stakeholders Association (TFSA), who doubles as the President of APT, Chief Eric Ilechukwu on readiness of the stakeholders for the coming of the surveyors, he revealed that stakeholders are ever ready to welcome them and show them the critical portions of the complex ring-road in need of reconstruction.

According to him, “We are happy on the ability of our ED/CEO in working to change the face of the complex. We are also happy that the assurance of the House of Representatives on sending surveyors is coming to reality and that is a strong assurance that the government will reconstruct the road to step up ease of doing business in the complex.

“So, we are ready to work with the management in receiving them and conducting them round the road and even down to the FESTAC link-road which they have graciously included in the project.
