After 14 years of inactivity, all is set for the return of yearly international meeting of global manufacturers and commercial giants at the Lagos International trade complex, Badagry Expressway, Lagos. This is as the official unveiling of the Commercial and Industrial Trade Fair 2024 planned for November at the Lagos Trade Fair complex is set for Eko Hotels in Lagos on Tuesday next week.
Before now, there had not been any trade fair activities at the complex, rather the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) usually organize a version of international trade fair at the TBS in Victoria Island. This is because previous CEOs of the complex lacked the intelligence and organizational capacity to come up with a trade fair plan.
In a statement signed by the Executive Director/CEO of the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex Management Board (LITFCMB), Barr. Vera Ndanusa and made available to Business Hilights, the Board averred that the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Mrs. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite will unveil the profile and planned activities for the 2024 Lagos International Trade Fair.
According to Ndanusa, “The upcoming fair represents the beginning of a remarkable journey towards the ongoing reforms to reposition the complex to its original status of an international trade fair centre for all Africans and Nigerians in particular.”
The statement further added that the Lagos State Governor is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour to the unveiling event on Tuesday next week in Lagos.
A competent source at the complex confided in our correspondent that special invitation letter have already been given out to all leading stakeholders within and outside the Trade Fair complex for the unveiling.
