…As Stakeholders solidify security architecture ahead August 1
The leadership of Lagos International Trade Fair Complex management Board (LITFCMB) has warned that due to the sensitive status of the complex as a high-end commercial hub hosting thousands of businesses and business operators, all intending protesters for #EndBadGovernance have been advised to stay clear.
Addressing a Press Conference in her office on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, the Executive Director and CEO of the complex, Barr. Vera Ndanusa said “The Lagos International Trade Fair complex is a commercial hub hosting several businesses and not an open ground or square for public gathering or protests.”
“I therefore advise all intending protesters to stay clear of the entire complex as adequate security arrangements has been put in place to apprehend anyone who came into the complex other than for business activities.
“Accordingly, genuine business operators and customers coming to the complex for their daily needs are therefore advised to go on their normal businesses without fear as all necessary security arrangements have been perfected for the safety of lives, properties and investments of Nigerians and foreigners in the complex.
Corroborating the complex CEO, chairman of Trade Fair Stakeholders Association (TFSA) and current President of Association of Progressive Traders (APT), Chief Eric Ifeanyi Ilechukwu told Business Hilights in a telephone interview that “As stakeholders, we are working with the management to maintain a Strategic Security Architecture (SSA) involving the Army, DSS and Police including the Civil Defence to partner with our in-house surveillance systems personnel within the protest period and beyond.
He therefore assured both members of TFSA and customers coming to do their businesses in the complex of adequate security and safety of their lives and belongings as usual.
