As part of efforts to reduce the sufferings of Nigerians and hunger in the land, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has suspended import duties and taxes on some items including food stuffs to make them more affordable for Nigerians.
Disclosing this Tuesday, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs, Mr. Adewale Adeniyi, said that the government was committed to addressing the economic hardship and inflationary trends in the economy.
According to him, the Service has streamlined export processes to facilitate the efficient movement of Nigerian goods to international markets, stressing that the introduction of advanced ruling systems, authorized economic operators, and a time-release study are structured to enhance trade, stimulate the economy, and create new opportunities.
He further averred that these strategic reforms will provide farmers, artisans, and entrepreneurs with a faster path to global markets, thereby benefiting their families and communities.
