Chioma is from Imo State and yes the marriage ought to have been held in Imo.
Though I am not happy Davido and Chioma’s marriage took place in Lagos but the fact is that insecurity in the region led them to host the ceremony in Lagos instead of Imo State.
This missed opportunity highlights the economic costs of insecurity.
Otherwise, had the massive wedding took place in Owerre-Nkwoji, the home town of Chioma, at least, hotels in Owerri, the state capital, Orlu, the next big town, Nkwerre, Anara and even up to Okigwe would have been smiling to banks even as other small businesses would have experienced injection of unprecedented direct cash flow.
It’s a reminder that peace and stability are essential for attracting investments, generating revenue, and promoting development.
This is a missed opportunity for Imo State, and a reminder that insecurity can have negative economic consequences.
Let’s work together to create a secure and prosperous environment for all.
However, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel as the South East governors have started move to approach the presidency for the matter and possible release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
